The Earls Inconvenient Wife

Is it possible for two people who really don’t want to be married to work it out? This is a great read that will take you though the gambit of emotions as these two fight cry and maybe fall in love.

Description

Nathaniel Buford, Earl of Roderick, doesn’t want a wife, but his brother died, passing on the title of earl to him. Now he is bound by duty to get an heir. Unfortunately, to get the heir, he must find a wife. As luck would have it, he gets caught in a scandalous situation not of his doing, and the next thing he knows, he’s married…and to a lady whose family is reported to desire money above all else.

Miss Claire Lowell wanted to get married. But she never intended to marry a gentleman who felt trapped into it, and she certainly never thought her family would have a hand in the scandal that forced Lord Roderick’s hand in marriage. Can love find a way to thrive under such conditions or will her father’s eagerness to see her married off to an earl condemn her to a loveless marriage?

*This is Book 1 in the Marriage by Scandal Series.

The Wicked Widow

Pam thought she and Jake were a happy couple. Then, Pam’s next-door neighbor got her wicked claws into Jake, and Pam’s world turned upside down…

Description

If I could turn back time, would I do things differently? I’m not sure.

A year ago, I knew Jake was restless. His 45th birthday was coming up. I saw him looking in the mirror, searching for new gray hairs. I pretended not to notice, but — later in the day — I’d make a point of telling him how much I loved him. To me, he was still the guy who’d swept me off my feet in high school. The charming guy whose smile made my knees weak, even after 25 years of marriage.

Jake. My man. My hero. The father of our two kids, and the man I expected to grow old with.

Even now, my pulse races a little when I think of him, despite everything that’s happened.

But, I’m getting ahead of myself.

A year ago, when I saw him checking for gray hairs, there were other signs.

His new underwear was one of them. In fact, it was a major one. Who was he trying to impress? Who — except me — saw him in his shorts?

Instead of his usual plain cotton boxers, he started wearing snug, form-fitting little shorts. How little..? Well, they were styled like European men’s bikinis. Tiny. Very revealing, and most were striped or they looked like an animal print.

I liked the leopard ones, and said so. At the time, Jake beamed and strutted a little, and we both laughed.

I teased him about "midlife crisis" and joked that he might have to buy a little red sports car, maybe even a convertible. He didn’t laugh so much at that, so I realized I’d hit a nerve. I tried not to mention it again.

Then there was the time I woke up around 3 AM and he wasn’t next to me in our bed. When I got up to see where he was, I found him at the computer. His face was kind of flushed, and he closed his browser window in a hurry. He said he was checking on a problem at work. I thought I saw a flicker of guilt, but figured I was just tired. Besides, when he came back to bed, we made love. It was like the old days, when Jake had more energy and… well, enthusiasm in the bedroom.

But then, the following morning, I tried to give him a kiss and he avoided me. I probably looked hurt, and he said, "Sorry, hon. My mind is on paperwork for the new store. In fact, I may have to work late. Don’t wait up for me, okay?" Then he gave me a peck on the cheek and rushed out the door.

So yeah… the warning signs were there. I just didn’t take them seriously. I thought he was worried about the new store, like he said.

That’s how Pam’s story begins. It’s based on a true story of cheating, heartbreak, and one woman’s struggle to build a career and keep her marriage alive… while the heartless widow next door tried to tear it up.

Note: This is a 16,000-word novella. The full story is in this one book. This is not a serial.

Cache 72 – A Jaxon Jennings’ Thriller

72 hours. That’s what the note said. 72 hours and the girl would be dead. Jaxon held the paper in one hand and the severed finger in the other. It was not a hoax. A day with his new hobby had turned into something he hadn’t seen coming.

GeoCaching—a modern scavenger hunt—was now a race against time. A woman he had never met was praying he wouldn’t fail.

72 hours. Three days. A life hanging in the balance and the clock ticking. The killer’s game deadly. Jaxon Jennings, retired cop and private eye, knew the girl had only one chance…

And he was it.

Interview With The Author

Q – So, what makes the Jaxon Jennings’ Thriller Mystery Series so special?

A – Jaxon’s not your typical hero. He’s flawed, and that makes him entertaining. As a reader, I want to be entertained and thrilled. I’m a fan of the Action & Adventure and Thriller genres, so it was natural for me to write in them. I’m also a lover of things that go bump in the night and I add a little creepiness just to make things interesting.

Not only will you want to keep reading late into the night, the pace and action keeping your nose in the page, but when you finally close the book, you’ll probably keep the light on as well.

“Help me…”

Q – What is GeoCaching?

A – The recreational activity of hunting for and finding a hidden object by means of GPS coordinates posted on a website. Okay, that’s the official definition but I like to think of it as a scavenger hunt using a combination of modern technology and good old fashion brain-power. It’s a heck of a lot of fun for the whole family.

Q – Should the series be read in any certain order?

A – Each book is a separate story and I wrote them to be enjoyed in any order. If you find you like to stick to a chronological timeline, I’d suggest following this sequence:

– Frozen Past

– Cache 72

– Father Figure

Jaxon Jennings’ Mystery Thriller, Cache 72, eBook Categories:

– Geocache

– Serial Killer Fiction

– Crime Series

– Mystery Action Adventure

– Thriller Action

– Detective Series

– Murder Fiction
